Gorakshep

This is the start of catchup posts that I missed while I had little or no power or Internet.  I'll also start putting back some photos as well.

From Lobuche, we traveled a fairly short distance to Gorakshep.  This is the very last outpost in the Khumbu region and is quite close to Everest Base Camp.

It is also at the base of Kalapatther which is a small peak (5,600m) we go up and the jumping off point to the much higher Pumori peak (7,100m).

The walk up to Gorakshep follows the side of the Khumbu glacier however all you see is the moraine covering the glacier, it mainly just looks like a rocky desert.

We get our first glimpse of EBC off in the distance from here as well.
