It was a short hike from Dingboche to Lobuche at 4,900m but had a very steep climb up the toe of the Khumbu glacier. We saw some awesome mountain views today. Words will completely fail to describe things so you'll just have to wait until I can come bake and update the photos.
At the top of the climb up the moraine at the glacier's toe, there is a memorial area for people that have died on Everest. Lots of stupas erected for different people including Scott Fischer and Rob Hall who both died as a part of the major catastrophe of 1996. It is sort of like walking through a cemetery and reading headstones. There are no bodies here, just the memorial stupas.
Not much else to write about on this segment although we enjoyed more hiking over relatively flat ground before and after the toe was made the day go fairly easy.
Lobuche is a bit more of a decline in the quality of tea house however the food continues to be good and
its easy to forget how dangerous Everest is.
